My name is Tim Eyman. I’m a battle tested conservative political activist. For 27 years, I’ve sponsored and qualified 17 statewide initiatives for a public vote. Voters have approved 11 of them. Those successful tax initiatives have saved taxpayers over $65.007 billion so far. Liberals despise me because I am a relentless advocate for conservative values in such a liberal Seattle-centric state. And no matter how much they attack me, the initiatives we sponsor consistently win at the ballot box. It drives them crazy.
Why do I need help?
Washington state’s Attorney General — Democrat Bob Ferguson — is attacking me and my family.
This is the same Democrat AG who sued President Trump 90 times, sued a grandmother for not doing flowers at a gay wedding, sued a high school football coach for praying after games, and is suing other conservatives.
Ferguson is running for governor and he figures that suing conservatives like me will impress the crazy liberals in his party. His lawsuit against me seeks to impose on me a lifetime ban on all future political activity. That’s right — his stated purpose is to stop me from doing initiatives for the rest of my life. This is political persecution.
Many years ago at his splashy press conference, the AG announced he was going after me and wants a $2.1 million fine and a lifetime ban on all future political activity by me.
My attorney responded:
“For all the heated rhetoric earlier today, this dispute is simple: whether two transactions from 5 years ago needed to be included on 2012’s campaign reports. The Attorney General believes they should, we do not. From the beginning, Mr. Eyman has made clear he did nothing wrong … It is chilling that the stated purpose of this action is to permanently bar him from participating in the political process in this State.”
His legal costs are zero because taxpayers are paying for his lawyers…while I have to privately fundraise to pay for mine.

Today, partisan government insiders are turning portions of the government into weapons of repression, attacking conservatives who speak out against them.
When the government targets someone like me with litigation, it doesn’t matter if you’re innocent or guilty, saint or sinner, the result is the same: the process is the punishment.
The legal costs are skyrocketing — they’re absolutely brutal. Without your help, the AG will bankrupt me and my family. If that happens, it’ll be the end of government limiting initiatives in Washington state.

Beyond Sleazy
Ferguson has now subpoenaed my wife Karen to force her to be interrogated at an hours-long deposition, despite the legal protection of spousal privilege and the fact that she had no role whatsoever in any of my political efforts.
We’ve been married for 25 years. My wife is a strong woman who has faced indescribably difficult challenges in her life, so I know she’ll make it through it. But she’s a private person who focuses her energies on being a full-time mom to three great but challenging kids and being a wife to a husband who’s a 24/7/365 political activist. She’s got her hands full focusing on family, not politics.
Ferguson’s attack on my wife is deeply offensive. What he’s doing to her shows what a small, petty, soulless little man he is.

For two decades, we’ve built an incredibly effective team of heroic people who are committed to restraining the government’s insatiable tax appetite year after year. We’ve had a string of successes unparalleled in our state’s history. And we’ve shown that even our occasional setbacks never stop us from trying again. And again. That persistence & experience & success must be terrifying to a power-hungry politician who’s gunning to be governor. Hence, his push for a lifetime ban and his harassment of my wife.
As soon as this witch hunt started, it was obvious it was gonna be brutally expensive and financially ruinous to me and my family. We don’t have the financial resources to fight this on our own.
